Objeto y sujeto
Who y what pueden actuar como objeto o como sujeto en una oración interrogativa. Si actúan como sujeto no utilizarán auxiliar (do,will,be...) para preguntar. En cambio, si actúan como objeto deberán preguntar con el auxiliar. 1. Sintaxis de la pregunta cuando who y what actúan como objeto:Who did you ring? (¿a quién llamaste?)
Question word + Auxilar + Sujeto + verbo en infinitivo
2. Sintaxis de la pregunta cuando who y what actúan como sujeto:Who rang you? (¿quién te llamó?)
Question word +verbo + objeto
Ejemplo1:
- Oración principal:
Dany asked the teacher. (Dani preguntó al profesor) - Preguntamos por el sujeto:
Who asked the teacher ? Dany (¿Quién preguntó al profesor? Dani) - Preguntamos por el objeto
Who did Dany ask? the teacher (¿A quién preguntó Dani? Al profesor)

- Oración principal:
He saw a woman being murdered - Preguntamos por el sujeto:
Who saw a woman? him - Preguntamos por el objeto
Who did he see? a woman being murdered
Ejemplo3:

I went to the party with Emely - Preguntamos por el sujeto:
Who went with me? Emely - Preguntamos por el objeto

Preposiciones
Generalmente ponemos las preposiciones al final de las oraciones interrogativas.Ejemplo:
- Correcto:
What are you talking about? - Incorrecto:
About what are you talking?
